Collaborative Books

Get Started Now

How a collaborative book works…

You contribute a single chapter on your area of expertise

Instead of having to write an entire business book of 60,000 words – you simply write one chapter of around 3500 words.

And clearly, the other authors involved each write their own chapters too.

We’ll coordinate the chapter topics between the group, to make sure the resulting book has a good flow of information – but we’ll make sure your topic is something you’re good at and comfortable writing about.

We handle all the project admin, coordination, editing, cover design etc. - all the publishing bits.

We coordinate the entire project, from beginning to end.

And all the tricky book production and publishing aspects are handled by us and our team, so you don’t have to worry.

This includes:

  • Cover design
  • Internal layout
  • Publishing
  • Printing
  • Distribution
  • Marketing

You become a published author - and reap the rewards that come with it, with minimal work.

Once the book is published – you can now call yourself a ‘published author’.

If you’re a business owner, this is brilliant for positioning yourself as an expert in your field (author = credibility).

And, you’ll get to take advantage of all the marketing opportunities involved.

You promote the book to your audience – while the other authors (and us) promote to theirs.

Meaning you expand your reach, too.

It’s a win-win for all!

What are the books for 2022?

Our First Book…

Rural Business Women

In 2021, we ran our first book project to produce Rural Business Women – Inspiration and advice to grow your business from regional Australia.

It was an incredible project, featuring Sarah and 15 other amazing and successful rural, regional and remote women in business.

This book is now stocked across Australia in bookstores, has received lots of media attention and has been a real opportunity for growth and learning for the authors involved.

Share the Costs of Publishing

Publishing your own book is not only time consuming, but often a larger financial commitment to do.

Contributing a chapter to a collaborative book however, allows you to share the costs of publishing.

How do I apply to be involved?

If you’re a rural, regional or remote business owner, you can sign up straight away. Simply use the links in the yellow box above.

If you have any questions, or wish to discuss potential topics first, please get in touch.

Am I eligible to be involved?

If you’re located OUTSIDE the major capital cities in Australia – and you run a business of ANY type – chances are, you’re completely eligible to apply.

Clearly though, while The Rural Rebel Business Revolution is for anyone – Rural Business Women is for those who identify as women.

Why does it cost to contribute?

Publishing a book requires a team of specialists – including an editor, cover designer, internal designer, publisher, marketers and more.

All of this comes at an expense, which can be anywhere between $10,000-$20,000 if you try to assemble and pay a team of people yourself.

With a collaborative book, we can split these costs between us, making it much more affordable for everyone involved.

What if I'm not a good writer?

It doesn’t matter! You can be a complete beginner at writing and have zero experience at writing books.

We’ll coach you through the entire process.

Why should I get involved?

Collaborative books share both the writing and the expense of publishing.

Its perfect for beginner writers who want to dip their toes in to writing books, without writing an entire book or funding it themselves.

And as a business owner, it gives you more credibility, authority, media attention and client/customer attention.

What Our Authors are Saying

I am proud to be involved in writing a business book alongside these amazing rural business women. The opportunity to share my own story and to help others is truly an honour. If the reader can identify with our stories and take away something that will help them in their business and their lives then we have done our job.

I am really grateful for the opportunity presented by Sarah to participate in co-authoring the ‘Rural Business Women’ book! It came together really well and I learnt a lot about contributing a chapter in a book and getting published! Thanks Sarah!

Writing a chapter in this book has been both rewarding and challenging – thankyou Sarah for the opportunity. To work along side a wonderful group of strong, motivating rural women has been an absolute pleasure.
